Frequently Asked Questions

What does the heart have to do with how I feel?

For emotional resilience and control, a conscious connection to heart is very important. Your heart sends more messages to your brain than the other way around. Your brain interprets the rhythm of your heart to create how you feel. So to change how you feel, you change the rhythm of your heart. How? You will be surprised at just how easy it is…

Learn about some of the mysteries of the human heart by HeartMath:

What exactly are we working with here?

‘Energetics’ is the term used to describe those systems within our physical body which we cannot see or touch. These include our thoughts, emotions, intuition and meridians (energy pathways used in acupuncture). Carmen-ni connects with your energetic systems in order to re-balance the flow of energy within.

We cannot see emotion as it is energy comprising of frequency and vibration. When you experience depleting emotions (frustration, boredom, sadness, impatience) you’re producing cortisol, the stress hormone. But not only cortisol -there is a cascade of over 1,400 biochemical and hormonal changes that take place and have a depleting effect on your physiology. Like everything in life, balance is key. By producing a coherent state within the body, things tend to work better.

Can you give me a Scientific Explanation of what you do?

The Human Energy Field (HEF) generated by the heart is a complex dynamic of electro-magnetic frequencies (EMF’s) which create waves of energy. When these waves of energy are disturbed (emotionally and/or environmentally) it disrupts the coherence of the energy patterns of the HEF, causing dis-ease (negative emotion).

But when this disturbed energy is exposed to more coherent energy patterns the disturbed resonant pattern returns to the more coherent, vibrational state of Homeostasis.

As human beings, we are composed of energy which interacts with our environment and influences our physical, mental and emotional health. “It is a system of wave-particle matter, transmitting and receiving vibrational information which governs the body” (Global Advances in Health and Medicine; 27th Feb. 2019). Healing occurs when coherent, harmonic energy is directed into the distortions caused by stressors. Have you ever experienced feeling better after a walk amongst trees? Or after a swim in the ocean? Your energy has interacted and resonated with a more coherent EXTERNAL environment. With Carmen-ni learn how to achieve a more coherent INTERNAL environment, strengthening your HEF and creating resilience.

Why can’t I just feel happy all of the time?

Become empowered to better navigate the flow of life - both the ups and the downs for these will always occur. They have to. The ups and downs are important for growth, experience, knowledge and wisdom. But imagine a reality where you are no longer wasting energy and time. Less fighting against triggers, stresses, worries, fears, pressure and other people. Instead you integrate the experiences with wisdom, awareness, understanding, love and compassion with the ability to navigate the bumps of daily life with greater composure and flow.

Why the water theme?

Water is often considered the emotional element because it is associated with qualities that are commonly related to emotions. For example, water is fluid, adaptable, and reflective, like the changing nature of emotions. It can be calm and serene, like feelings of contentment, or turbulent and overwhelming, like anger or grief.

The reflective surface of water can also symbolise the ability to reflect on one's emotions and to access deeper levels of consciousness and intuition. Furthermore, water is essential for life and growth, much like the emotional nourishment and support that humans need to thrive. In many spiritual and philosophical traditions, water is associated with the subconscious mind, dreams, and the process of transformation and healing. These qualities have led many people to view water as the element that most closely represents the emotional and psychological aspects of the human experience.
