Why taking a chance is important for growth
There is more to life
Our existence is not what we think it is. Its time to delve a little deeper. As humans in the modern world we spend a majority of our time on things that may have very little to do with the reason why we’re here.
Why do you think you’re here?
To discover a reason, explore and experience life. The more you explore, the more you experience, and the more evolved your answer becomes.
One morning I read an article that was quite relevant titled “7 Signs you’re not taking enough chances”. It suggested that taking chances is important for accomplishment and growth.
We tend to fall into the trap of obtaining a job, purchasing a home, having kids, buying vehicles and then spending our prime years (20 to 60 at least) working hard to earn the money to buy more stuff to fill the house, to entertain the kids, to provide a short-term satisfaction of worthiness.
What if you knew you’re worth without the “stuff”?
If you took it all away - who would you be? Somehow life can be so all-consuming that we rarely take the time to explore the possibility of whether there is more to us and more to life.
The article suggested that the most exciting times of our life that led to the most rewarding experiences probably began with taking a chance on something we were not completely sure about. In fact, taking chances appears to be the number one thing to do in order to live a most fulfilling life.
And taking this concept further, what makes an experience rewarding?
It is in fact your emotional response to it - happiness, love, excitement, adventure, achievement. Reflect on your life for a moment… what are the highlights so far? I bet the highlights have intense emotion attached. Emotion is food for the Soul. Or if we take this further, emotion IS soul.
Magic is worth mentioning at this point. For when you take chances and trust that everything works out you witness a little magic in your life. Magic such as synchronicities and discoveries are abundant when you take a little chance. It’s as though you start to play with the universe a little and its willing to play back. It gives you little indicators that say, “I hear you”.
Living your life taking little chances brings you closer to your soul. And living your life from the place of your soul can give you magical experiences that living your life from the place of mind and body alone cannot.
It’s not always easy to take a chance. But it can certainly be empowering and fulfilling when conducted well. If you have that little niggle within that urges you to do something different - tune into the intuitive intelligence of your heart and take a chance. Trust. Because there’s so much more to life than you have ever imagined and so much more on offer.
